QCS 2023

Art programming for 2023 features artists creating in real time throughout the festival. We are happy to welcome Ashley Laren and Garrett Melby as they create pieces inspired by the live scene. See below for their bio and schedule of times:

Live Painting:
Saturday, March 25th
5:00-8:00pm
@ White River Brewing
Ashley Laren has always been inspired to create, but it has been since 2020 that she really leaned into incorporating her love of nature into her artwork. Being able to experience the world around us and relive her journeys while she paints has been expressed by Ashley as a life-giving experience. Ashley feels fulfilled in her art practice when she is able to have conversations with others about their experiences in nature in relation to the subjects she paints.

Garrett Melby -
Growing up in southwest Missouri creating art throughout high school, lover of nature and beauty of all that surrounds. Left Missouri in the early 00's to head to Phoenix to attend college for animation. While getting a degree art was featured in galleries in Phoenix Tempe and Mesa Arizona including animation, fine arts, and filmmaking. Doing live art with musicians feeding off the energy of the moment. Moving back to Missouri having art displayed in West Plains, Houston, and Springfield Missouri. Painting live with bands such as Haha Tonka, the HillBenders, Molly Healy String Project, Jalopy and many more. Using art auctions to help raise thousands of dollars for local nonprofits in the area.
